A Detroit Fury were an Arena Football League team. A team began play around 2001 and was based around suburban Detroit, Michigan at the Palace of Auburn Hills, also residence of the Detroit Pistons of the National Basketball Association and the Detroit Shock of the Women's National Basketball Association. A team was co-owned by William Davidson, along with William Clay Ford, Jr., the owner of the National Football League Detroit Lions. In September 20, 2004, the AFL announced the termination of this franchise, & that its players would become processed available to the leftover teams within a diffusion draft.
